Shortlisted for an Orange prize and nominated for an Edgar, Manda Scott’s writing career spans two decades and a multitude of genres, always with powerful, complex warrior women at their heart. Originally a contemporary thriller writer, she progressed to historical fiction with the international best-selling Boudica: Dreaming series and the Rome series of classical spy thrillers. In addition, she also writes for television, radio, broadsheets and blogs.
Her novels Into the Fire and A Treachery of Spies join in interwoven historical and contemporary timelines.
A Treachery of Spies was published by Bantam Press in the UK in August 2018. It was long-listed for The Guardian’s Not the Booker Award by public nomination. It won the 2019 McIlvanney Prize which recognises excellence in Scottish crime writing.
Her latest novel, Any Human Power, was published by September Publishing in May 2024.
